Bullet travels through wall in Springfield apartment, two arrested

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Two people have been arrested after a reported shooting at a Springfield apartment building.
Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said officers were called to a report of shots fired at a Pearl Street apartment around 7:30 p.m. Monday. They were in contact with residents and saw a bullet hole in a bedroom wall and a box spring. No injuries were reported.
Believing that the gunfire came from an adjoining apartment, police spoke with the residents in the neighboring apartment and located two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Jonathan Rivera and 18-year-old Dunesky Diaz, both of Springfield. A loaded gun was also found on top of a grill on the balcony.
Rivera and Diaz are now facing several gun-related charges.
