SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A heads up if you’re looking to buy a car in the near future. Automakers are signaling prices could go up, and sales could go down this year.

General Motors say its sales fell seven percent in the fourth quarter of 2025; that’s despite being up six percent for the full year.

Reports of Q-4 slumps are also coming from Honda and Hyundai.

Toyota is an outlier, with an eight percent increase during the final quarter, but it warns prices could rise this year.

Automakers are grappling with new tariffs, and consumer worries about inflation.
