CHESHIRE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- More than six months after admitting to a multi-year tax fraud scheme, a 76-year-old Cheshire man was in Springfield Federal Court on Tuesday to officially plead guilty.

Back in August, four counts of tax fraud were announced against Dennis Condron.

He admitted to federal prosecutors that he funneled over half a million dollars to his personal bank accounts using customer checks written out to his company, D. Condron Construction, which operated in Berkshire County.

Condron didn’t disclose that to his tax preparer, and in turn, pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars, that he should have paid in federal and state incomes taxes.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 19th.
