Chicopee Police arrest teen allegedly driving stolen car, possessing gun

CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A juvenile was arrested after allegedly stealing a car and leading police on a chase in Chicopee.
Police were alerted Tuesday afternoon about a stolen car in the area of East and Carew Streets and found the vehicle on the road soon after. Officers began to follow the driver, who led them on a short chase.
The suspect soon ran into red-light traffic at the Memorial Drive and Sheridan Street intersection and, as officers began to approach the vehicle, the suspect attempted to split traffic and hit four vehicles.
The suspect and two passengers tried to run on foot, but they were caught and taken into custody and the driver was reportedly found with a gun.
The 17-year-old driver was arrested on several stolen vehicle and firearm charges and the two passengers on resisting arrest charges.
