CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - One man is facing charges after a traffic stop in Chicopee led to the discovery of drugs and an unlicensed gun.

On the night of May 13, an officer watching traffic in the area of Meadow Street noticed a black Honda Civic with what appeared to be an attached plate. The driver, 24-year-old Adam Battles of Chicopee, was stopped and his vehicle was searched.

Officers reportedly found marijuana, a digital scale, and a backpack carrying a loaded hand-gun. A further investigation showed the driver did not have a license to carry and was placed under arrest.

Battles is now facing multiple chares including carrying a loaded gun without a license.
