HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A child was seriously injured after falling out a window over the weekend.

Holyoke Police said officers were called to the area of 569 South Canal Street around 6:45 p.m. Sunday for a report of a child throwing items out of a window. As police entered the building and made their way up to the third-floor apartment, officers were told that a three-year-old child had fallen out of the window.

The officers then ran back out of the building to provide first aid. The child was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators located the child’s parents and learned that both were allegedly inside the apartment at the time of the incident. The father, whose name has not been released, was arrested on charges unrelated to the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
