CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – The storm that blanketing parts of the central and eastern United States is expected to bring over a foot of snow to western Massachusetts.

The accumulating snow prompted the PVTA to end service early on Sunday. The agency added that they will be using a modified schedule as DPW crews across the region work to clear the streets.

Officials in several communities are urging residents to adhere to issued parking bans in an effort to help crews complete their cleanup efforts.

In Chicopee, if you’re a resident in need of any sand or salt for your property, you can head to 115 Baskin Drive where the DPW has a public shed filled with those materials.
