EASTHAMPTON, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Congressman Richard Neal visited Easthampton High School on Monday to honor those on their way to the 2026 ‘We The People’ national competition.

The team in Easthampton won an impressive ninth straight state championship in the competition. They’ll now head to Washington, D.C. and joining hundreds of students from across America in showcasing their knowledge of our constitution and government.

“I do this with great regularity and they all asked questions today that were entirely pertinent to the discussions before us about the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, as well as congressional authority, presidential authority, and the review rights of the Supreme Court, so you could tell the homework had been done,” Neal explained.

Neal added that he will also be in Washington for the event and looks forward to greeting the students when they arrive there.
