Crews battle three-alarm fire at former Springfield hospital
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Crews were called to a fire at a former Springfield hospital late Thursday morning.
Springfield Fire Capt. Drew Piemonte said they responded to the former Vibra Hospital on State Street for a three-alarm fire.
The hospital shut down in 2023 and in 2024, city officials threatened legal action against the owners after they reportedly failed to maintain the property.
No injuries were reported from Thursday’s fire and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
