AMHERST, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- The 16th annual Daffodil Run took place in Amherst on Sunday.

There was a 10k and a 5k that helped raise money for one-on-one mentoring relationships with local youth.

“Our goal was to sign up at least 600 runners. I think we’re hopefully coming close to that. We had hundred of runners register before the event and we’ve got lots of people signing up today,” said Susan Nicastro with CHD Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County.

Kite flying, music, food and entertainment capped off the event.
