Delays and detours expected as crews begin construction projects
LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A new road project is underway in Longmeadow, as resurfacing begins on Longmeadow Street, also known as South Street. Crews will be working from the Enfield line to Crescent Road.
They are working on upgrades to stormwater structures, new asphalt berms, and installing a rectangular flashing beacon at the corner of Summit Ave. After those projects are complete, crews will begin repaving the road.
Drivers should expect delays and detours while the work is happening, but police details will be out to assist.
The project is expected to run until June.
