EAST BROOKFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Second Chance Animal Services in East Brookfield is on a mission this holiday season. The shelter is trying to find a home for one dog before he spends his third Christmas in a shelter.

Second Chance said that if Loki is not adopted by Monday, he’ll be marking two full years at the shelter and his third holiday without a home.

Officials said he first came to them in 2017 from Mississippi and was quickly adopted, but was returned in December 2023 when his family could no longer keep him. He’s been waiting for his new family ever since.

Loki likes going on hikes, car rides, and playing in the snow while showing off his tricks. He would also prefer a calm home with few visitors, no other pets, and a female owner, though he can warm up to men with some patience.

To help him find his forever home for the holidays, one of his biggest supporters already paid off his adoption fees, so if you want to bring Loki home, contact Second Chance Animal Services at (508) 867-5525 as soon as possible.
