Driver dead following tractor-trailer crash in Whately

WHATELY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One person is dead following a crash in Whately.
Melissa Sippel, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, said that a tractor-trailer was heading southbound on I-91 in Whately when it left the road Tuesday morning, entered the median, and hit a group of trees.
The driver and only person in the truck, a 47-year-old man from Haverhill, NH, was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s officer will determine the manner and cause of death.
The crash remains under investigation.
