HADLEY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - One person was seriously hurt in a Sunday afternoon crash in Hadley.

Hadley Police Lt. Mitchell Kuc Jr. said that officers were called to North Maple Street for a one-vehicle crash. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Springfield man, suffered life-threatening injuries.

He added that an initial investigation reportedly indicated that excessive speed was a main contributor in the crash, along with the weather conditions.

Those wintry conditions have led Hadley Police to respond to several other crashes and vehicles off the roadway. They are urging drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
