EAST BROOKFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Second Chance Animal Services needs your help because the heating system at their East Brookfield shelter is failing.

The shelter has launched an emergency fundraiser to secure the money need to replace the unsalvageable system. Longtime Second Chance supporter Charlton Oil has set-up temporary heat to keep the building open, but it isn’t a long-term solution.

The shelter cares for dozens of vulnerable animals, so a loss of heat could be disasterous for their recovery. As of now, staff are monitoring the temperature around the clock until the new system can be installed, but the shelter needs $14,000 to cover the replacement.
