Electrical malfunction in a Springfield home leaves 2 people displaced

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Just after three p.m. Monday afternoon, Springfield fire crews responded 67 Acushnet Avenue due to reports of smoke showing from a three-story house.
Officials tell us first arriving crews located the fire in the basement of the home.
There have been no reported injuries. The two people displaced are now being assessed by the Red Cross.
Springfield Arson And Bomb Squad determined the cause to be an electrical malfunction.
