Enfield police arrest suspect in Subway robbery

ENFIELD, CT. (WFSB) - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery at Subway on Enfield Street.
Police say that officers responded to the Subway on Enfield Street at around 11:26 a.m. Tuesday morning for a panic alarm activation. Authorities discovered that a robbery had occurred and the suspect had fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The suspect, 29-year-old Thomas Sparzo, told an employee he was in possession of a weapon and would not harm her if she complied. He then emptied the cash register and fled toward Thompsonville.
Through investigation, it was revealed that he was a former Subway employee. He was located on Lincoln Street and confessed.
Sparzo was charged with 3rd degree robbery, 6th degree larceny and 2nd degree breach of peace.
He was held on a $51,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Sparzo was also arrested for a robbery on Elm Street on November 28th and had been released from custody on December 8th.
