SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- It’s another victory week for the Patriots after they took down the Texans and are due to face the Denver Broncos this weekend.

However, if you’re thinking about heading to Colorado to catch that AFC Championship game, you might run into a few roadblocks. If you are attempting to buy tickets through Ticketmaster for Sunday’s game, you may get a message that reads, “Due to limited availability, tickets will be sold *only to those with a billing address in the rocky mountain region, including Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Western Kansas.”

Pats fans, you may be thinking that you’re out of luck to spend your weekend in Denver, but that’s most certainly not the case. It will just take a little digging.

This is something that Jay Smith, President of Sports Travel and Tours, hasn’t seen in his thirty years of work. “I haven’t seen it in football thus far. There was a restriction when the Field of Dreams game happened out in Iowa. They’re, I guess, not wanting to have a slew of Patriot fans in their stands. It’s fairly unusual,” Smith explains.

Nevertheless, when there’s a will, there’s a way. Smith tells us, “Tickets, hotels, everything has a ticket price to it. If you want to be able to go and you want to sit in a certain place and you’ve got the money to spend, you can surely sit there and go.”

If you’re someone with that “will…” you’ll need to get in contact with someone like Smith, who says, “The way around would be is calling somebody like me or, you know, another organization that packages up travel... that has access to tickets... And we’re more than happy. We have inventory. We’re more than happy to help.”

So even though his business is located here in western mass, getting access to those tickets in Denver is what’s key. You won’t be able to from your phone or computer, but companies like Sports Travel and Tours can. There comes in the next problem: the price tag.

Smith explains to us, “You might be able to sneak in at $700, but that’s pretty much the event ticket to get in the door... And that’s sitting in the upper level in the 500 level seats... So, it really is a fluctuating market... It just depends on who’s winning, who’s losing, and what their fan base is all about.”

He says that there’s typically a lot of interest in tickets once fans find out their team is advancing, but then that interest dies down because the price point sits higher than people are willing to spend or afford.

Of course, if you plan on watching the AFC Championship game right here in New England, you can catch the Pats and Broncos this Sunday at three p.m. on CBS3.
