Fire damages house in Ludlow

LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Firefighters were called to a house in Ludlow Tuesday following multiple 911 calls about a fire on Poole Street.
According to the Ludlow Fire Department, the calls came in at about 5 p.m. to their dispatch center.
When emergency crews first arrived they could see fire and smoke pouring out of the home.
Ludlow Police officers were first on scene and used fire extinguishers to try and slow the spread of the fire.
Firefighters came from multiple communities to assist Ludlow including from Wilbraham, Chicopee, Granby, and Westover.
“Due to the lack of a municipal water supply in this area of Ludlow, water tankers were utilized to support firefighting operations,” noted Ludlow fire officials.
While the fire was ultimately knocked down, several rooms inside were damaged as well as most of the first floor by flames, smoke and heat.
We’re told the house was vacant at the time.
“The fire is believed to be accidental and remains under investigation,” Ludlow fire officials said.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
