Former UMass Lowell DJ resigns following threat to the Vice President

LOWELL, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A former radio DJ affiliated with UMass Lowell has resigned, according to school officials. This comes after they posted something online showing support for killing Vice President JD Vance.
Officials say the unidentified person responded to a BlueSky post critical of the Vice President by saying, “It’s simple...we kill JD Vance.”
The DJ worked as a host for WUML, which is funded by UMass Lowell and managed by students. However, they say this DJ was a volunteer and not a current student.
UMass says it’s taking the matter seriously and contacted the FBI, Secret Service, and Haverhill Police, who deemed there was no immediate threat.
