Getting answers on current holiday air travel conditions

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT. (WGGB/WSHM) -- It’s the final push before Christmas, and holiday air travel is now in full swing.
We’re taking a look at what conditions we’re like on Tuesday for those flying into Connecticut. Western Mass News stopped by Bradley International Airport and spoke with travelers about their experiences. Flyers gave mixed reviews about their holiday travels.
Shari Cantor who was traveling from Chicago tells us, “It was very manageable, but it was very very busy.”
While conditions didn’t seem too bad in Windsor Locks Tuesday night, one traveler coming in from Las Vegas tells us it was a different story down in Nevada.
“It was insane and it was 4 o’clock in the morning when I left there. It took me probably 45 minutes to get through security,” Geroge Mattie says.
Experts are predicting that just over eight million people are expected to fly within the U.S. during the 2025 holiday season.
By December 26th, about 92 thousand travelers will have taken off from Bradley alone since the start of the airport’s peak travel period which began on December 18th.
“Flights were completely packed, luggage there was juggling with the overhead they were asking if you can check your bag to check your bag but other than that people were really friendly with each other lots of families traveling,” Cantor continues.
Even though several travelers we spoke with say they dealt with busy airports heading to New England, others tell us they had a pretty mild experience.
