BOSTON (WGGB/WSHM) - Governor Maura Healey is expected to deliver some good news about your gas and electric bills Thursday during her State of the Commonwealth address.

She said in a statement that she’s announcing an immediate reduction in those sky-high bills. Healey noted customers will see their February and March electric bills reduced by 25 percent and gas bills will be reduced by 10 percent. She said her administration will be covering those costs from existing funding sources.

The utility bill relief is one of the new initiatives she will be announcing to lower costs for residents. Healey will deliver her remarks Thursday at 7 p.m.
