WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- A Templeton man walked away from a charity golf tournament with a new car and then handed it straight to his wife.

Bill Wonkka won the hole-in-one contest at the Swings for Seniors Charity Golf Tournament, which earned him a brand new car from Bertera Subaru in West Springfield.

Two participants recorded a hole-in-one during the event, but Wonkka claimed the prize by sinking his shot from a greater distance.

Wonkka said the pressure of the moment affected his game. “Oh, my God. I had to tell you, when I went in and we won it, I couldn’t play the last three holes. I was so nervous,” he explained. “But the hole-in-one, that was like number 24 for me since I started playing at 14.”

Wonkka said he will not be keeping the vehicle for himself. He plans to give the car to his wife, who he said has needed one for some time.
