HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – An Agawam man is facing several gun-related charges after authorities were called to a Holyoke apartment.

Holyoke Police said they responded to a High Street apartment for a gun call around 4:25 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators learned that a suspect, identified as 18-year-old Elias Santana of Agawam, allegedly pointed a gun at a female whom he knew.

Officers arrived and knocked at the door, at which time a female and Santa came out of the apartment. After receiving permission to search the apartment, police went in and found a loaded gun, an empty magazine, and six rounds of ammunition.

Santana was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm, and possession of ammunition without an FID card. Holyoke Police added that, which the investigation remains ongoing, officers have requested that charges also be filed for assault with a dangerous weapon and armed firearm assault to murder.
