Holyoke police seize Drugs & Cash from repeat offender

Holyoke, MA. (WGGB/WSHM) - Holyoke police arrested a suspect and recovered heroin/fentanyl, crack-cocaine, cocaine and cash during a property check Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday at approximately 2:35 a.m., Officers conducted a property check in the area of 542 South Bridge Street.

Officers encountered Tyler Carter near a porch. Carter is known to officers as a frequent trespasser. When officers approached, Carter attempted to run away. After a brief foot pursuit, officers stopped Carter just past South Bridge Street.

Officers located crack-cocaine in his sweatshirt as well as cash. They also recovered cocaine and suspected heroin/fentanyl from Carter.

Officers seized approximately 101 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 20 vials of suspected crack-cocaine and four vials of suspected cocaine as well as $265 in cash.

Carter has previously been convicted of two drug charges.

Tyler Carter, 35, of Granby, Mass., is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug – subsequent offense, possession of a Class B drug – subsequent offense, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
