House fire in Springfield leaving four without a home

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Four people in Springfield are without a place to live right before the holidays due to a fire.

When our news crews arrived to Bretton Road around 6:40 Monday night, we were able to see smoke coming out of the windows.

The flames were put out by the time our news crew arrived. We’re told the four people displaced are getting help from the Red Cross.

Officials are investigating, but we’ll share the cause of the fire as soon as it enters our newsroom.
