Hybrid car fire reignites after crews extinguish flames

SHREWSBURY, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- The Shrewsbury Fire Department knocked down a car fire last night just before they heard a loud sound and the fire reignited.
Crews determined it was a hybrid car that needed extra attention, so they used an extra hose to cool the battery.
After an hour, they determined the fire had safely been extinguished, and no injuries have been reported.
A reminder to always be safe around fires, even when you think they’ve been put out.
