Inmate sentenced to additional prison time after assault at Hampshire County Jail

NORTHAMPTON, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - An inmate at the Hampshire County Jail has been sentenced to even more prison time after he assaulted a victim inside the jail in 2024.
On October 11, 2024, Robert Anderson attacked another inmate with a metal lock during a routine institutional count. Officials added that Anderson concealed the lock inside a laundry bag before hitting the victim in the head, unprovoked.
The victim was treated onsite before being taken to a hospital.
Anderson was sentenced to three to five years of extra prison time.
