PITTSFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A woman has been hospitalized after the watercraft on which she was riding crashed into a dock.

Pittsfield Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Garner said they responded to the back of a Blythewood Drive around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday for a reported water rescue. When crews arrived, they found that a Jet Ski-style watercraft had collided at a high rate of speed with a shoreline dock.

The operator, a 33-year-old woman, was found unresponsive in the water with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Berkshire Medical Center and her condition was not immediately known as of 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“We thank the actions of good Samaritans on scene who kept the victim afloat and stable until our arrival,” Garner added.

The incident remains under investigation by Pittsfield Police and Mass. Environmental Police.
