(WGGB/WSHM) - A Virginia bus driver accused in the deadly highway crash that took the lives of five people from Massachusetts, four of whom were members of a Greenfield family, could be released on bond.

Jing Dong, 48, is facing five counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the crash.

On Wednesday, a county judge granted a $25,000 secure bond on three of the five charges in circuit court. The judge also issued bail conditions that stated Dong is not allowed to consume any alcohol or drugs unless a doctor prescribes it and surrender his U.S. and Chinese passports, personal driver’s license, and commercial driver’s license.

The other two charges will be decided by a general district court.

Dong’s preliminary hearing is set for August 28.
