Longmeadow High School evacuated after gas smell reported

LONGMEADOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Longmeadow High School was briefly evacuated Tuesday afternoon.
Longmeadow fire officials told Western Mass News they responded to a reported smell of natural gas just before 12:15 p.m. The building was evacuated as a precaution and Eversource was called in to assist fire crews.
It was determined that the odor was a sewage smell issue and it was safe for students and staff to go back inside.
Classes then resumed as scheduled.
