LUDLOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- A Ludlow brewery will host a fundraiser Saturday for the 15th annual Ride to Remember, which honors fallen police officers and firefighters. Vanished Valley Brewing will host the event from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Ride Director John Delaney started the charity to honor fallen Springfield Police Officer Kevin Ambrose, who was killed in the line of duty in 2012, and Westfield Officer Jose Torres, who was accidentally struck by a dump truck while working a construction detail that same year. “And instead of being one and done, we’re 15 years into it and we ride for all officers and firefighters and corrections officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty,” he explained.

Delaney added Saturday’s event is the charity’s biggest fundraiser. It will feature a pig roast for $20, live music from the Floyd Patterson Group, and raffles to help feed the 500 riders that take part in the ride in September. “And it’s necessary because the Ride to Remember represents the fallen heroes in Massachusetts and Connecticut,” Delaney said.

Those looking to join the ride can sign-up at a discounted rate at the fundraiser.
