Machine gun, stolen firearm seized in Springfield arrest

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A 17-year-old boy and a Springfield man have been arrested for allegedly having illegal guns, including a machine gun
Springfield Police detectives were investigating the 17-year-old for several months and that this isn’t the first time he’s been found with illegal guns. The teen had recently been given an ankle monitor, but allegedly cut it off.
Officers found him hiding out at an apartment in the area of Roy street and began to search the apartment. They found two loaded guns, one that was reported stolen out of Ohio and another that had been modified to be fully automatic. They also found 86 bags of heroin.
The 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old Jevin Rivera of Springfield were both placed under arrest on several gun-related charges.
