Cans for Kids released the following statement thanking police for their response.
“On behalf of the Cans for Kids leadership I want to thank the Enfield Police Department for their swift response in locating this individual. This morning a resident of Broad Brook took it upon himself to steal from our Cans for Kids shed located in the Raffia Shopping Center in the early morning and attempted to deposit those cans for cash in Wethersfield. We have always tried to make our shed open as long as possible, in spite of potential security concerns, to maximize the availability for Enfield residents to deposit cans to contribute to our cause to help Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. As always we thank those who’ve stood in support of Cans for Kids over the last three decades and we remain undeterred in our mission,” said Gary Raffia, director of Cans for Kids, and Zachary Zannoni, assistant director.
