SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Another arrest has been made as Springfield Police continue efforts to crack down on illegal dirt bikes and off-highway vehicles on city streets.
Investigators were conducting an off-highway-vehicle enforcement detail on Thursday when they reportedly saw two unregistered motorcycles – a moped that was classified as a motorcycle and a motorcycle designed as a dirt bike - around 6 p.m. The riders were stopped along the 300 block of Allen Street and police learned that neither bike was insured and neither rider was licensed.
At approximately 5:55 p.m., officers observed two riders on unregistered motorcycles. One was a moped classified as a motorcycle, the second was a motorcycle designed as a dirt bike.
