WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A jury has found a Westfield man guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter, following the overdose death of a South Hadley woman in May of 2024. 43-year-old Christopher Halla was convicted after he sold pills to 57-year-old PJ Susan Goldenberg.

Halla claimed those pills were oxycodone, but evidence shows they actually contained metonitazene; a synthetic opioid more potent than fentanyl.

The jury also found Halla guilty of tampering with evidence, after he told his friend to throw out the rest of his drug supply once he found out about Goldenberg’s death.

Halla will be sentenced in Hampshire Superior Court on Tuesday, April 14th.
