Man seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Springfield.
Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said officers were called to the 1500 block of Allen Street around 9 p.m. Thursday.
The man, who was reportedly not in a crosswalk and wearing all dark clothing, was taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and the case remains under investigation by the Springfield Police traffic unit.
