Man struck by vehicle along Chestnut Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Springfield.

Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said emergency crews were called to the 300 block of Chestnut Street around 8:15 p.m. Monday.

The man who was struck was taken to Baystate Medical Center to be evaluated for possible injuries.

Walsh added that the driver remained at the scene and the case remains under investigation by the Springfield Police traffic unit.
