Memorial Bridge closed due to ‘rescue efforts’ in Conn. River
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A busy local bridge is closed as crews conduct a rescue operation.
Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that the Memorial Bridge, which connects Springfield and West Springfield, is closed due to those efforts taking place in the Connecticut River.
West Springfield Police added that drivers are being asked to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.
