Menorah lighting takes place in Court Square

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- The City of Springfield celebrating Hanukkah by lighting the menorah in Court Square Monday afternoon.
Mayor Domenic Sarno and other city officials were present for the ceremony saying now more than ever it is important to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community.
