‘No Kings’ protests happening across Western Mass.

WESTERN MASS. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Millions of people are taking part in “No Kings” protests across the nation on Saturday, including right here in western Mass. Organizers say the rallies are to show opposition to President Trump’s policies, as well as the war in Iran.
These aren’t the first of these protests, as hundreds filled the streets October of 2025, rallying for the same cause. Western Mass News Spoke to Senator Jacob Oliveira back in the fall, learning why these events are so important to the community.
“To see our fundamental rights being stripped away, seeing people being picked up on the streets, seeing the budget that has come out that has stripped away funding for things like health care for veterans and for people who are low income... That is not our American values, and I think that the people who are here today are showing up in numbers to send a strong signal to Washington D.C. that this administration has no place being in office, given that it is completely disregarding the constitution,” Senator Oliveira explained.
