NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Police are asking for help as they search for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident in North Adams that left live electrical wires exposed and buried in snow.

Take a close look at the photos.

The accident happened early Saturday morning, on December 27th around 2:35 a.m., near the Hadley Overpass.

“North Adams Dispatch received a report from a North Adams DPW plow truck operator that a light pole had been struck and damaged...” explained the North Adams Police Department, “The vehicle involved fled the scene, leaving exposed electrical wires on the ground that were covered by snow, creating a potential safety hazard.”

Days later, on New Year’s Eve, police took to their Facebook page posting photos of the vehicle after they were able to obtain video footage of the vehicle, but not a clear view of the license plate.

Investigators believe the driver involved was traveling in a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee, possibly a 2004 model.

If you have any information or can identify the vehicle, contact Officer Christopher Voss at 413-664-4944 ext. 1
