Northampton invests into overdose prevention and addiction recovery

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Northampton is investing $120,000 into overdose prevention and addiction recovery efforts. The city is now accepting applications through May 15th for up to $10,000, through its new “opioid settlement fund” mini grant program.
The money will go toward initiatives like prevention, harm reduction, treatment access, and recovery support. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, grassroots groups, service providers, and other community-based organizations serving Northampton residents.
The city’s Health Department will be sharing more details in a virtual information session on April 17th.
