PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A quick response, and an off-duty police officer, quickly limited damage in a house fire on Holmes Road in Pittsfield Saturday afternoon.

Off-duty officer James Sena first saw smoke coming from a 2 ½ story house, before alerting the residents, and getting them out.

Firefighters arrived to the scene and began working on the scene.

The cause is under investigation but does not appear suspicious. No injuries were reported, and the owners were able to stay in their home.
