Officials praise new Holyoke Veterans Home during tour
HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Massachusetts Labor and Workforce Development Secretary Lauren Jones visited the Veteran’s Home in Holyoke on Monday. She joined other state officials and development partners to take a tour of the new facility.
Eric Goralnick, secretary of the Executive Office of Veterans Services, told Western Mass News that the area serves as more than just a landmark. “You can see for yourself, just an amazing facility, but beyond the facility, beyond the brick-and-mortar, it’s the pride and the quality care that these veterans will receive. We’re moving from an older facility to a new facility and we’re writing a new chapter for the veterans in Holyoke and the veterans across the Commonwealth,” he explained.
Goralnick added that some of the workers were veterans and praised their transition into the civilian workforce.
