Over 100 tickets issued in Springfield neighborhood quality-of-life sweep

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Dozens of tickets have been issued after Springfield officials conduct a park-and-walk ordinance sweep in one city neighborhood.
Springfield Police said that the operation was conducted Thursday in the area of Wilbraham Road and Bristol Street by their ordinance unit and the city’s code enforcement department in an effort to address quality-of-life issues.
As a result of their efforts, police issued 58 ordinance tickets were issued, along with three parking tickets. They also towed one unregistered vehicle and found one abandon vehicle sticker. Code enforcement investigators also issued 50 tickets.
Walsh noted that officers also located two unhoused people during the sweep and they were directed toward support services.
