Patriots honor Uxbridge officer killed in accident

FOXBORO, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen Laporta was honored by the Patriots at the AFC Wildcard Round Sunday night. Officer Laporta was killed early Wednesday morning while helping a driver on the side of Route 146.

In the days following his death, he has been honored at the State Police Graduation, as well as by the Boston Bruins during their game Thursday night.

Visitation for Officer Laporta will be on Wednesday the 14th in Franklin, with his funeral following the next day at St. Mary’s Church. the burial will be open to the public at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Officer Laporta leaves behind his wife Shannon and 13-year-old son Matthew.
