Patriots owner surprises fallen officer’s family with Super Bowl tickets

FOXBOROUGH, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The family of fallen Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta has received a special surprise from none other than New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft.
LaPorta was killed January 7 when he was hit by a car while helping a driver on the side of I-495. He left behind his wife, Shannon, and young son, Matthew, who were recently invited to visit Gillette Stadium for a tour.
However, that tour was just a cover story as Kraft had a bigger surprise for them. They’re heading to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara. In addition to the tickets, they got to meet members of the team and Matthew even got to try on Super Bowl rings.
They’ll now be able to cheer on their team - in Officer LaPorta’s honor.
