Pedestrian hospitalized, struck by car in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- A pedestrian was struck on 154 Maple Street in Springfield just after five in the evening in Springfield.
Our Western Mass News crews arrived to the scene around six p.m. and saw multiple police cruisers closing off Maple Street from Mulberry to Central St.
Springfield Fire Captain, Drew Piemonte confirmed that they have responded to the scene.
Springfield officials say that the person has been taken to the hospital, however there is no word on their condition at this time.
