WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- The Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity hosted their second annual pickleball tournament at The Picklr in Westfield on Sunday. The tournament was divided into three groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

The money raised went to homeownership and home preservation projects throughout Hampden County.

Western Mass News caught up with Aimee Giroux, the Executive Director at the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity, to learn more ways you can get involved in their organization.

Giroux tells us, “You can go to our website, habitatspringfield.org, and we’ll list other events that we have there. We do have an upcoming a comedy show in May, and we have a giant bingo show in June for pride month. So, we always have different events. We try to do a wide variety of things so that there’s something for everybody to be a part of this. You can volunteer to come out on our build site. We should be starting up some projects later this summer and we’ll be looking for more volunteers.”

The Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity is a housing ministry dedicated to providing homeownership opportunities to low-income families.
